My very own City of Fallen Angels wee!!!

So it's raining outside. Well, it was raining pretty hard about fifteen minutes ago and I decided to wait for it to tame down a bit before I head home. Yupz, I'm currently in the office right now, in front of my office computer :) There isn't much to do at the moment (*at the moment). I already sent the stuffs I had to send, and things, so right now my mind is running with the words "I love Jace". Gosh, Ms. Cassandra Clare's works are just fan-tastic! Totally addicting so I really can't wait to get home and fix myself a big dose of City of Fallen Angels. I only started reading it last night, stopped at chapter 13 because it was already around 3am and I have work the next day, but ended up late, and drowsy anyway, but still eager to read the next pages of the yummy book. And speaking of the City of Fallen Angels book, I'd like to thank my friend and his girlfriend (Super Thanks Guys!!!!) for helping me get a copy of the book. You see, COFA (let's use this acro for short) is not yet available in Davao City book shops. So try as I may in begging the customer service lady of National Bookstore (thanks for bearing with my weirdness btw) to hand me a copy, it was not possible in such a short time. Fortunately, friend here, who also searched the shops just like me, had another friend, who came from a land far away overflowing with the lates stuffs who is also, fortunately, a big fan of the series, and who was kind enough to buy the COFA and ship it to this faraway land (Gosh, waiting to read the COFA is making me crazy, though I think it's sort of like a partial stuff even before I waited to wait to read the COFA which never really happened since after I found out the Mortal Instruments will have another book following the said trilogy, I was already very excited and therefore waited to read the COFA-- Ok I'm getting off topic, if I ever had a topic, wait, yeah I do...) Anyway, friends helped me get a copy and for that I thank them very much. ^___^ Now the rain seems to stop, and since I want to know what happens next, *I'm really nice so you realize, no spoilers on the post *grins** except for ramblings which you think perhaps are probably nonsensical, and if you do think that way, I thank you for reaching until this line of the post.

Ja! I gotta go, I still have a date with Jace *mwah!*

Two Months of Summer - Chapter 1

Haha… it’s been a while since I posted any stories, made a lot of them lately but some of those are still on my notebook (yup, these past few weeks I’ve been enjoying writing on paper with a pencil haha). Anyways, I’ve been checking on some of the stories I’ve typed, and here’s one which I think is all right (NOTE the “I”… I’m not really sure how others would find it, so to be safe I’ll emphasize that the one saying that this story is all right is ME—just MY opinion… haha… I don’t want anyone getting mad at me or anything.).

Hmm… well, I’m not really sure if anyone else, aside from the few people I forced, would bother reading this one, but if in any case someone does, like you for example, yes you… I’d like to thank you in advance ^__^.

Oh, and btw, I can’t guarantee that you’ll like this little drabble of mine, so READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Another anyways, I know not many read my stories, but (you know, we got to do what we have to do)àneed to type the copyright thing down, just in case (me not bragging really… it’s a just in case matter).

Two Months of Summer

Chapter 1

By Pipan P

“A summer vacation unlike any other” this phrase, which is oftentimes used by dreamy girls hoping for a love-filled summer, had been one of my targets for the two month vacation from school—a fun-filled summer with my high school friends, including my long-time crush Jake Michaels, who had recently turned available after his breakup with Elena Russell—a girl I’m not really fond of.

For a couple of weeks before the said vacation, I had made the effort to think of good plans for the group outing which my friends and myself had arranged for the free-from-school-months in a private beach resort owned by Cerise Lerouch’s—my ever loving best friend—family. Among the number of ideas I’ve thought of is walking on the shore while the sun is rising with Jake, exploring the nearby cave with Jake, storytelling by the bonfire with Jake by my side, and stargazing with Jake, and all these would eventually lead to me and Jake going out.

Apparently all my plans will have to remain as they are—good old plans, as my parents decided to ground me for the whole two months of summer vacation for coming home drunk after driving one Saturday night.

“You’re not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages, I’ve told you that many times already. What’s worse is that you drove your car home in that condition. Do you know how dangerous that is!?” was my mom’s speech after a few minutes of stepping inside the house premises.

It wasn’t really that big of a deal. Aside from the fact that I’m turning eighteen on the next month, I came home perfectly fine, well aside from being drunk and all. I arrived home without any injuries. Heck they should be glad that I came home at all, instead of sleeping out in the bar. The car did not even have a single scratch, aside from the two old scratches, one from the first run—It took me a while to finally master turning to a curve without hitting anything—and another from one of my other driving-while-drunk moments—wherein I wasn’t caught. So the punishment I’m given for that one night is totally uncalled for.

I don’t think I deserve to be grounded. I don’t think its right for me to miss the outing my friends and I had organized, to miss my chance to go out with Jake, and to be sent to an isolated place that cannot be in any way associated with the word summer.

“You will be staying with Marie” the very words my mom had ordered after announcing that I’m grounded for the next two months.

Marie is a nice person. She’s a good friend of the family, a daughter of the head of the Crane Industries—a good business partner of my own family’s company—and had often helped me in some of my school works. She’s a pretty lady, twenty five years of age, who is by no doubt kind and very intelligent. I wouldn’t have any objection to staying with her if it wasn’t for the phrase added to the order afterwards during our conversation. “You’ll help her with her chores in her farm.” She had said with the most emphasis on the last word.

Farms are not my thing. I consider myself as an outgoing, and city-loving girl. I love going to malls—shopping, I fancy eating in Italian restaurants with my friends, I love hanging out in bars, and I always update myself with the latest trends in the fashion industry. A farm doesn’t have any of that, and so it doesn’t really fit in the type of lifestyle I live.

Unlike me apparently, Marie adores the farm lifestyle. Contrary to being a daughter of a rich family, she prefers the simple type of living. Not too much grandeur, and in the countryside as much as possible. She’s got weird taste.

I observed the wide field covered in corn. Corn, corn, and more corn, I don’t even like to eat corn.

“Leanne, be good okay?” my mom reminded me. I leaned by the glass window on the backseat of the family car and nodded weakly.

“Behave yourself. Don’t cause Marie any trouble” my father added.

I had attempted a compromise with the decided arrangement, but none of the things I’ve suggested had worked. They’ll have it their way, and nothing I say is going to change it.

I stared at the wide corn field, sighing as the only thing in the place I’ve figured was corn, and a pale yellow house which I supposed was Marie’s on the far end of the curvy, non-cemented road.

As we drew closer to the residence, I’ve noticed that there’s a barn near the yellow structure. The joy! It seems that I don’t only have to water corns I also have to take care of some animals. If they were dogs or cats I’ll be fine, but I have never took care of pigs or cows or chickens. They’re really going to make me regret getting drunk.

We stopped by the house, and were almost instantly greeted by Marie who stepped out of her house the moment we stopped.

Charlotte!” she beamed, her waist-length red hair flowing behind like silk, when my mother stepped down the car. The two of them hugged each other, before my father came out and also gave his greetings.

They were cheerfully talking outside, when I caught her stare at the direction of the car, and since I’m the only person inside, I reckoned she was probably looking for me. I sighed before opening the door and then jumped down,

“Hi Marie” I said with less enthusiasm than I would have if it was a normal, and wholehearted visit, closing the door of the car behind. Outside the car, I could have a better view of the house I’ll be staying in for a few weeks. Amidst the place it’s constructed on, the house is pretty nice, two stories high, with a beautiful porch, and glass walls on the left side. It looks modern, much like how houses in my neighborhood are constructed, minus the gates, the pool, and the garden—unless she considers the field her backyard.

“Leanne, it’s so nice to see you” she smiled, and ran to hug me too. I gave a stiff smile, and returned the gesture with a hesitant tap on the back, “I’m so glad you decided to stay with me for the summer.”

I did not decide to stay, I was forced to stay. How I wanted to blurt the words out, but it’s difficult to act all sour and grumpy in front of Marie. She’s just too kind.

“Yeah” I replied,

“We’re going to have fun” she gleamed,

I simply nodded. I’m not sure I would, though.

My parents gave me last minute reminders, before heading off to the airport where they’ll board their plane to their business trip destination.

Marie helped me carry my things inside. Everything in the house’s interior seemed normal. No hanging baskets, haystacks, or things I’ve expected, coming from movies in farmland setting. There’s even a flat screen television in the sitting room, complete with DVD player, and piles of DVD’s, neatly stocked on elegant racks beside, and under the television.

This isn’t so bad.

“Would you like to see your room? Or do you want to have some tea first?” she politely asked,

“Er… I’d love to see my room” I’m not really in the mood for tea. I hate tea.

And with that she led me upstairs, still lending me a hand with my baggage, and explained to me various places—not many I might say—just the first door as her room, a bathroom, the door on the side of the corridor, until we reached the second of the two rooms on the top floor.

I dropped my gym bag on the floor after entering the place. It’s a neat room, smaller than my own room in my own house, but clean and decent. There’s a queen-sized bed on the side parallel to the huge glass window with long refreshing white morning curtains slid on the side, allowing the sunlight to penetrate the room. There’s a study table opposite to the bed fully equipped with a good looking computer and printer, and a bookshelf filled with seemingly educational books, none of which I would fancy reading, on the left side.

The place didn’t look much like a guest room. Considering the number of books, and school stuff inside, a nerd must own it.

“This is my brother’s room” she explained, as if she just heard my speculations. I was right after all, it wasn’t a guest room.

“I didn’t know you had a brother” I commented. I’ve attended a couple of the parties hosted by the Crane’s, since they were introduced to me by my parents about two years ago when the business partner thing had fluttered, and not once did the mysterious brother appear. Come to think of it, I haven’t even seen any of his pictures, or heard his parents speak of him.

“Yeah, you haven’t met him yet. He doesn’t like attending parties or social gatherings.” She stared away for a moment, “His name’s Lionel.” She continued, “He usually comes here with me during vacation, but currently he’s fixing some of his papers in preparation for College. So you’re free to use his room, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.”

“Which university is he attending?” The main reason why he doesn’t attend the parties is probably because he’s far too busy reading his books and getting top grades in his class.

“He’s still undecided. He’s been accepted in a number of schools, some of which were offering him scholarships. He’s still weighing his options at the moment.”

Definitely a brainiac, and he doesn’t even need the scholarships. What with the Crane’s money and all.

“So is this all right for you?”

“Hmm… the room’s nice”

“I’m glad you like it” she smiled again, “I’ll leave you to settle, if you need anything I’ll just be downstairs.”

“Okay, thanks Marie”

“No problem.” And she closed the door behind, leaving me to wander my eyes around the room.

I noticed the computer, and wondered if the place had internet connection. Interpreting the words, “he wouldn’t mind” as “you may use the things inside”, I turned the computer on, only to find out that Marie’s brother, a.k.a. Lionel, had set a password on. I tried out some keys in an attempt to use the machine, typing in some silly hunches like “lionel”, “Crane”, “marie”, “nerd”, “password”, and other various combinations, none of which had worked.

After a few minutes of unsuccessful attempts, I decided to give up and turn off his computer. Browsing through the things on the table, I found a picture frame faced down. It was almost unnoticeable as the color of the back of the frame is about the same with the table.

Curious, I checked it out and found a photo of a guy and a girl on some living room. The girl had shoulder-length blond hair, and light blue eyes. She wore a plain pink shirt, and was leaning cheerfully on the guy’s shoulder. I think she’s pretty, and I suppose she’d look a lot better if she gets a new hair style, her straight all over do is totally off. The guy, on the other hand had beautiful black hair, even though it seemed unkempt in the photo. He had a handsome face that would probably earn some contracts for commercial ads, possibly even Hollywood if he could act.

After staring at the photo, a sudden insight had come to me. I looked at the guy’s face again. Could he be Marie’s brother? He doesn’t look like a nerd, and he doesn’t look anything like Marie.

I gave up on the thought. I’d just ask her, it’ll be a lot easier, and a lot more precise. I left the picture standing before standing up and leaving the computer desk.

I opened my bag for no particular reason, and found my bag of toiletries on top. I realized that I wanted to take a bath. I saw a door. Marie hadn’t told me where it led, so I walked towards it to check it out, only to find out that it’s a closet with guy’s t-shirt and jeans hanging on some rack. There weren’t many of them, proof that the person Lionel doesn’t really come often to the place.

I sighed before turning back. I didn’t have my own bathroom. I went back to my bag and pulled out my towel, and my bag of toiletries. As much as I’d love to whine, I know that it won’t get me anywhere, only possibly a wretched image. Not wanting any of that, I kept my mouth shut and walked towards the bathroom to take a refreshing shower.

Over dinner, Marie had made some nice stew. It amazes me how she could cook, clean or do things that the usual rich heiress’ couldn’t.

She didn’t make me help cleaning up. Either she’s a very generous host, or she’s afraid that I might break them. Having nothing to do, I went back to my borrowed room.

I climbed the bed, and picked my cell phone from the top of the pillow, where I left it earlier. I searched for my best friend’s number, browsing from Camille, Catherine, Carter, and then finally to Cerise. I pressed the call button, and waited for her to answer. She must be having a lot of fun as the she decided to get her phone after five rings.

“Leanne!” her sweet voice answered enthusiastically, and I can hear the beat of the music on the background, “Argh, you are missing the best summer ever” she said as if accusing.

Perfect. What a nice way to greet, like I’m not there by my own choice. “Hi Cerise” I impassively spoke,

“Oh” she slowed down, it seems that she remembered I wasn’t here on my own accord. “Hi, sorry I’m just too overwhelmed. I miss you already, we miss you.”

“Yeah, me too”

“Isn’t there really any way you could sneak out from that miserable farm, and head here? Leanne, we’re having a blast… and guess who’s been asking where you are earlier.”

“Harry Grayson?” I speculated, rolling my eyes at the memory of the extremely persistent suitor.

“No”

“Don’t tell me it’s Cynthia, I already explained to her why I’m here right now.”

“No silly, can’t you make a decent guess?”

“Gregory?”

I heard her chuckle, “It’s Jake Michaels” she laughed, “He’s been asking people earlier about your whereabouts, or if you’re coming”

“No!” I almost screamed, “He did not!?”

“He did sweetheart”

“Oh. My. Gosh. I should have been there” the punishment to me had never been that difficult to bear until that fact had been revealed. I’m so frustrated, I wanted to cry. My long time crush was asking where I was, and here I am unable to come there. I could perhaps sneak out if I had brought my car with me, but that’s not the case. If only the place was closer to civilization, where there’d be taxis waiting…

I let myself drop on the bed. There’d be no way Marie’s lending me her car. Not when she uses it to go to town to get us some supplies, not to mention my mother asking her not to let me drive. Why must I be grounded now?

“Leanne?” Cerise had broken my flowing thoughts. She seemed worried about my lack of response to her news.

“Er… yeah, still here” I answered weakly, “Oh Reese, I’m so, so angry at myself for being grounded at the wrong time.

“Don’t be too hard on yourself. Hey, I have an idea, how about, you tell me where you are so I can get my car and pick you up. Since we’re in the same state at the moment, I don’t think it’s that far from where we are.”

A light flame of hope started to come to me, “Really?”

“You know I’d do anything to get you here”

“Well, I’m not very good with directions, but it’s a long drive from a town called Little Hanks”

“Little what?”

“Hanks, Little Hanks? Have you ever heard of it?”

“From which part of the state is that place?”

I sighed. she doesn’t know where to find it. Well, Cerise isn’t better at navigating and following maps than I was. I guess having her pick me up is a pretty bad idea, worst case—she could get lost, and I’d hate for my best friend to get in trouble because of me.

“Oh never mind” I told her as lightly as I could, “Maybe I’d take my chances at the start of the new semester”

“Come on, you could take your chances now. Leanne, Jake is here, looking for you. It’s the perfect chance.”

“Maybe another time” I would want it to be now, but it’s impossible.

“Fine” she muttered, “I’ll just keep girls away from him then. You really won’t come?”

As much as it tempts me, “No Reese”

I heard her yelp, but before I could ask she took a deep breath and told me that it was only her boyfriend.

“Hi Leanne” he greeted blending with the background,

“He said he wanted to dance”

“Then I’ll call you another time” I spoke, deeply wishing that I was there with them,

“All right, love you”

“Love you too, have fun”

“Ok” and I ended the call.

I threw the phone on the side of the bed and closed my eyes. I’m grounded, and there’s nothing I can do about it. I cannot bother my friend and possibly put her in danger for my selfish reasons. I sighed, it’s probably better. This way I could probably ease up my bad record, maybe my parents would think I’ve learned my lesson, and would let me off the hook in one or two weeks. I shook my head, like that would happen. They’re word is law.

Giving up on going to the Lerouch’s private beach resort, I tried to think of pleasant things, unfortunately, all things pleasant always led me to the private beach resort, the parties they are and will be having, and Jake Michaels. The thoughts just made me feel more uneasy, and I shifted from one position to the other, until I finally drifted to sleep.

I woke up in the morning with the bright sunlight on my face. I felt its warmth on my back. Refusing to rise, I snuggled my long pillow, breathing in the scent of a light perfume which as I immediately recognized was for men. I remembered that I was borrowing the room of Marie’s brother for the time being. The pillows must not have been changed since her brother left for school. I tried to hug the pillow closer, but I found something really strange. It was warm, and it didn’t feel like a pillow at all. A little second of comprehension had made me open up my eyes, and I was greeted by the sight of a blue cloth with buttons. Later on did I realize that the pillow, or so I thought, was rising gently, like the chest of a breathing person. Oh no! I quickly sat up, ignoring the dizziness it had resulted, and backed up a few spaces, only to find a man sleeping on the bed. Shocked, and disoriented, I screamed.

The man staggered when he heard my loud shout and also backed a few spaces from me, surprise visible on his features as he stared at me. I stopped screaming that instant and returned the stare with a little extra—I glared at him,

“Who are you and what are you doing here!?” I blinked as he took the words right out of my mouth,

“Excuse me!?” I was supposed to be the one saying those. How dare him.

“What are you doing here!?” he repeated, and the door suddenly opened, revealing an anxious Marie.

I was about to run towards her, when the guy spoke again, “W-Marie, do you know this woman?”

Confusion seemed to mirror in my eyes as Marie walked towards me, and then gave me a light embrace, “I’m sorry Leanne, I… I wasn’t expecting—“

She turned to look at the guy, “I thought you were staying in your dormitory for the summer?”

The man ran a hair on his black hair, only then did I recognize his face. He was the person on the picture I’ve seen on the desk yesterday. He looks almost the same, except that his hair was a little longer back then. I tried to arrange the things in my still woozy head. The guy’s on the picture, he’s in the room, he asked me what I was doing here, and Marie knows him. I almost sighed. He’s the brother.

“Well, I didn’t know you were coming” Marie was explaining as I figured what the whole thing was about. I saw her brother scoff and stare at the window, an annoyed expression playing on his features.

“Leanne, this is my brother Lionel” she introduced, “Lionel, Leanne. She’s staying here for the summer”

The two of us kept quiet, not even bothering to say hi.

“Aren’t you going to greet each other?” Marie suggested,

“Er… hi?” I broke, trying to be nice. I’m the extra person here, better act good.

He cleared his throat, “Nice to meet you” he spoke unconvincingly, I was so sure he didn’t mean it, before standing up and then going out of the room.

“Sorry about that” Marie smiled, “He’s just surprised, he didn’t know you’ll be coming. He probably arrived last night or early this morning, too tired to turn the lights on and all… he wasn’t expecting anyone.”

“It’s all right” With her sincere apology, how can I not lie.

I went downstairs for breakfast a few moments after Marie had left me for my morning routine, and found Lionel inside the kitchen, helping himself to some pancakes. He didn’t look like he noticed me, or he simply ignored my presence as he did not look up the moment I stepped inside.

Listening to Lucky and Writing

These past few days I've been listening to Jason Mraz' Lucky featuring Colbie Caillat. I heard it first on the radio (My sister listens to the radio often, I don't though, just occasionally, when I'm not too lazy to turn it on, but that time I was, since she was listening, and... well you get the picture)... Jason Mraz has this beautiful voice, and you know it's difficult not to recognize it, so I assumed that it was his song, and I was right (lucky!), then saw the video on MYX... he's awesome, I just love Jason Mraz!!! I love listening to his voice. The song's a little short though, but it's very very very nice, I just wish that it could last a little longer. :)

Erm... I'm also writing this new story. Hmm, well I've written the draft on my notebook and had some of my friends read it, it's called Fixing Prejudice, haha. Then I started typing it on my computer, and I seemed (understatement) to have changed some (understatement again) of things I've written on the draft. Well, the story had turned out quite differently than what I first intended, but I'm not sure if they'll like it. I'll still have them read the modified version though, and ask for their opinions, if the first one's a little more preferable than the new one, or if they think the new one's better. :) I've also started writing this GH fanfiction featuring (NaruxMai), I'm a little anxious of this one, I'm a major NaruxMai fan, and I know how it feels reading a fanfic with OOC NaruxMai... haha, I hope nobody gets mad at me. I already posted it on fanfiction.net - read it HERE if you only want to of course :).

Pretend Chapter 5 and 6

I've started typing these chaps last night, or the night before that... haha, hmm... Still no linkies or javascript codes for jumping chapters, I know I said I'll do it when I get the time. Actually, I had some time for it before, but I'm too lazy... :) I'll leave the codes for A Phone Call Away for now, and I'll try to add the links for the other stories later.

After I post this, I will read A Phone Call Away again and recall things. Ok, I've already started typing the events I've just recently planned, but I cannot say for sure when I'm going to finish it. An Idiot's guide to falling in love will be updated later, The starting lines for the next chapter have already been typed, just waiting for the continuation

Here's the 5th and 6th Chapter of Pretend, I hope you like it :)

Pretend Chapter 4

I've said a while ago that "I'm currently working on the fourth chapter" Well, I've already finished it so I'll be posting it now. Haha, we don't have a lot of things to do so I'm taking the time updating stuffs. XD

I've already finished downloading some anime episodes on my "currently watching" list... It's already 11:31pm my time, I know it's still too early to sleep but I've been sleeping very late these past few weeks so I had to sleep early on the next days... hmm... I don't think that makes sense... anyway, I'm still trying to decide if I'm watching some of the episodes now, or if I'm going to save them for later. haha, I think I'll make up my mind after I post this post.

This is, as I've mentioned, the fourth Chapter of Pretend, I know I've said from one of my past posts that this Story is only going to have 5 chapters(?) or something, but it turns out that it's not possible to have the story completed in 5, well it is possible, but I'll have to cut a lot of parts, condense some parts and speed up the events more. That's not a very good idea (me thinks
(I originally planned a short story, but I got too overwhelmed... gomen)). I've already typed down the events I plan on making for the story so I wouldn't forget them (hopefully) I typed it on the document I'm editing the chapters on so I wouldn't have a hard time finding the file.

I think I've said too much... anyways, here's the fourth chapter of Pretend, I hope you like it.
Pretend Chapter 4

Pretend Chapter 2 and 3

The second and third chapters are up. It's long been uploaded but I was still thinking whether to post it here or not. But since I feel it's already all right, here it is... haha, I'm currently working on the fourth chapter and hopefully it would turn out fine.

Btw, Obaa-sama is a formal way of saying Grandmother (most of the people using it are the rich ones... as observed on most animes), Obaa-chan means the same only without being too formal.
Onee-chan means older sister, Okaa-san means mother

I'm using those terms on this chapter... :D Scratch that, I used it on the fourth chapter, not on the 2nd or 3rd, Gomenasai :)

Oh and I'll have to apologize, I'm too lazy to put javascript codes for jumping pages, I've only managed to put it on A Phone Call Away, the other stories... well, I'll try to put some when I get the time, ne?

Pretend Chapter 2

Pretend Chapter 3

I hope you like it, thanks :D

Pretend Chapter 1

Me again. :D This is the first chapter of the new story I'm working on. It's called Pretend. Hmm... I've just re-read the first chapter and erm... I'm still not sure on this one so please tell me what you think about it, whether or not I should continue the story. I've made four chapters of it by the way, but as I've said, I'm not sure, when I read the whole thing I get the feeling that the story's way way rushed so erm... I'll try to read the whole thing again and see if it's all right the second time.

Yeah, for the synopsis...
Kagurazaka Ken is a famous singer who was chased by his fans. It's not an unusual event for a guy like him, but one time something unexpected happens. He meets a girl and asks him to pretend. :D

Like I said, I'm not good with summaries... haha, but please read anyway. :D

It's over here

Rival II: An Idiot's Guide to Falling in Love Sequel Part 5

Hi! I'm currently working on another story, it's called Pretend, It's probably not going to take a lot of chapters, perhaps just about three or four chapters, it's a quick one. I've based it on one of the other stories I've created which is not posted here. Well, I've read the whole thing again and it lacks erm... something so with the plot of that other story, I added up some things, subtracted other things and hopefully, it'll turn out all right...

Ok, I've gotten to another matter again, back to the post,
Chapter 5... almost the same with chapter 4, only from a different Point of View, it's Asano Youichi's POV. :D Many thanks to Reich for reading and reviewing the story.

Here's Chapter 5

Rival: An Idiot's Guide to Falling in Love Sequel Part 4

It's been a while since I've posted anything, I mean any story updates. A Phone Call Away is still on hiatus. I know I've said I already know what to do about it, but I sort of forgotten what I wanted to do with it. haha! Sorry, anyways, I'll be reading it again and try to get the plot I want it to have back.

Actually, I'm still not officially on vacation, since we have yet to finish revisions for our project, we're given 30 days, I was able to write this chapter down because I was slacking on the job. I'm currently on the 'feeling the summer break' kind of state, even though I shouldn't be.

Anyways, back to the main topic, this is Part 4 of the An Idiot's Guide to Falling in Love Sequel, I've just finished it, and... I'm not sure you'll like it. :D Last time I was told by my good friend that the 3rd part of the sequel is pretty boring, I agree with her actually, I also find Chapter 3 quite boring, I mean, nothing much happened in it. Chapter 4 is erm... well, it was what came into my head while I was reading the previous parts of the sequel, it just came to me and so I wrote it down before I forget the whole thing.

Story's the one below... I hope you like it, and if you have time please leave a comment :D
Thanks! XD

How do I know if I like her? An Idiot's Guide To Falling in Love Part 2

Ok, I've finished writing the second part of the story. I've decided to make a two-part instead of a three-part. :D So this would be the last part of An Idiot's Guide to Falling in Love. Actually, I'm not so sure about this one. I don't know if you'll like it. Anyways, Please tell me what you think about it, if it's lame or if it needs another part or whatever you feel like telling me about the story.

Today's my Grandmother's birthday btw... Happy Birthday 'Nay!! We've made a surprise for her, but she doesn't know about it yet (of course, It's a surprise!!)

Oh, and Some of my cousins are here right now! LOL. Back to the story, I'm telling you beforehand, I'm not so sure about it, so please please tell me what you think about it ok? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
And I still haven't made a link to connect the two parts, I'll do that later anyway the posts are close, so no trouble looking for the other part. Part one is the post before this post with the drawing "Magic Tree". ^^;

How do I know If like her? An Idiot's Guide to Falling in Love

Heya!! Before anything else, I'd like to thank my cousin Pao for the lovely picture "Magic Tree" above ^^ I like looking at the picture. Hmm... impressions?? It's a beautiful drawing of lovers under a tree, and according to reich, it is simple but has a silent feel to it. It is very pleasant to look at, a feeling of serenity but somehow it makes me feel sort of erm... sad (just a bit). Don't get me wrong, the picture's really great but somehow, there's a certain something on it that makes my heart prick *sobs* Haha, gomen!!
Thanks Pao for allowing me to post your art here, I really love it!!

Ok, This evening, I've been trying to solve some quanti problems and I've only managed to get the first problem right *wink* the others? Well... I'm not sure about them and some of my answers are kinda different from the one on the answer key. :D

Anyways, I've currently finished typing a new story I've just started. I got the idea yesterday morning and wrote it on paper on our breaks on that same day so I wouldn't forget. It's called "How Do I Know If I Like Her? An idiot's guide to falling in love" Yep, the title's pretty long. :D lol. I'm planning on making it a two-three part story, just short.

Synopsis:
A cool guy Souma Takeshi is having trouble deciphering his thoughts and his feelings. The reason? A girl named Koyou Haruka a.k.a. Class Nerd, Four Eyes.
Ok, you know I suck at making synopsis but please read the story anyway. :D Thanks!

When I Fell

This is a short story I made a long time ago, yup, well not so long time ago, and yes it isn't a chapter fiction. XD I read it again and, erm... let's see, I think it's all right, so I decided to post it. It's a love fiction based on first person perspective. It's not much, but I hope you read it anyway, and tell me what you think about it.

Here's the link
When I Fell -->removed the link! :) I think posting the whole story here is more convenient
here's the story:

When I Fell
By: Pipan P

It wasn’t the first time I met her, but seeing her definitely makes me happy. It is indeed strange for me to feel this way… To think about it, I remember the first time I saw her. She was playing for the Pacific High Basketball team. The Pacific High Basketball team was a part of the open division, which means that girls and boys can play on the court as equals. She was a tough competitor. We weren’t the team their competing with at that time, it was another team. To tell you the truth, I hated that team. I don’t normally hate teams for the reason that I love competing but that team was different. They’re a bunch of cheaters, to think that they’ll actually beat and hurt girls to win. She was one of the girls who got beaten up by those jerks. But she was cool. She did not mind the player who hit her. Or so I thought, after the game she practically got her revenge. I saw her beat the guy. The guy ended up like a child who lost his candy.

The next time I saw her was in school. Though she’s a year younger than me, a freshman, I see her along the campus. Due to my curiosity and my eagerness of wanting to know more about her, I asked questions to the people who I think knows her, just then did I learn that she transferred to our school because of the wounds and bruises she got on their last game. Her parents wanted her to act like a lady and to do that she must first be away from the basketball team. So they enrolled her in my school, which was not a part of the open division.

There were many instances where I ran close to her or she was close to me. But there was never a time when the two of us talked. Of course you cannot expect her to talk to me because she didn’t know me. I on the other hand had no reason of talking to her so I couldn’t find any excuse of getting close to her, until their P.E. Class. It was their lesson in basketball and as varsity players, we were asked to teach them. She needed no assistance because she was a former basketball player. I noticed that she had no friends in her class. She practiced alone. I went near her and tried to entertain her. That was the first time we talked. She was stern, not quite a talker but sensible and smart in her words.

We became friends. She shared her memories and I shared mine. I learned more about her and later on understood her personality. I was with her every day. And every day I liked her more and more. Then one day while we were in school, she seemed sad. She was trying to hide it from me but I can see that there was something bothering her. I asked her what it was. For a moment she smiled and tried to conceal her true emotions but it did not work for very long because she burst into tears and fled into my arms. It was a romantic sight. Any guy would probably like that, the girl he longs for on his arms. I would probably like it if not for the words she said afterwards. She told me that she saw her ex- boyfriend with another girl. She spilled all her emotions on that day. She told me how she loved him and that she still loves him. She said that she never thought that it would still affect her. It broke my heart. I wanted to cry out, and tell her how I really feel about her, but I did not. I thought that it would be better if she wouldn’t know. I thought that if I tell her, she might be even more confused and the pain in her heart would grow. I tried to comfort her, even with my heart feeling the same way she does.

I asked her who he was and she answered me. I didn’t know the person, but whoever he is, he’s one lucky guy. I tried to find him and with the effort I brought out I did. I consider him an opponent the first time I saw him but controlled myself for the sake of the person I care for. I was asking some people about him and learned that he just broke up with his girlfriend. It was a perfect time for me to confront him. I picked a right time to talk to him personally. I felt like I’m one stupid person, who would be stupid enough to tell his rival the ways of winning? I thought twice in doing it. Why don’t I just leave him alone and make her fall for me. But I know I was just being selfish so I decided to do what’s right.

I waited for the right time to talk to him. He was alone on the streets and I blocked his way. I tried to be cool. I didn’t want any trouble. I talked to him and told him about her. I said that she still cared about him. He laughed, and gave out insults about her. I was furious. I didn’t want to hear him insulting the girl I care for. I told him to stop but he did not do it. I warned him again but still he did not stop. I was unable to control myself and I punched him on the face. It did not take long and the both of us were hitting each other. I got him and punched him continuously on the ground. He was bleeding terribly and then… I heard someone scream.

He was unconscious on the ground. I turned to look at the source of the voice and to my surprise, it was her. She pushed me away from him and yelled at me. She was worried about her ex- boyfriend. She was crying while holding him. She told me to go away. I did as she said. I went away and felt an agonizing pain. I cried that night. I never thought even for once that I’d feel this way. I felt so down. I felt like every person in the world had stepped on me. For what she’s done I wanted to hate her. But I couldn’t, I still liked her and the feeling just won’t go away. I felt like I was the dumbest person in the whole world.

I asked for her forgiveness but she wouldn’t listen to me. She wouldn’t even talk to me. And a week after that incident I heard that she was back with her boyfriend. After school I can see her walking, holding hands with that guy. She’s not aware on how much she hurts me every time I see them together. But I could do nothing, who am I in her life anyway. It seemed like all the times we’ve spent together were just thrown out into the trash. I never bothered them again, I just hoped that he wouldn’t hurt her and that he’ll love her and care for her more than I do.

I concentrated on my studies and on being better in basketball so I could at least forget about the feelings I have for her. But it’s not that simple. The harder I try to forget, the stronger the feeling become. Even if I try to deny, I still care for her.

One day while I was heading home, the guy blocked my way. It seems like he’s up for his revenge. He spoke and laughed maliciously. He bragged about how she chose him instead of me despite of all the insults he told me about her. He insulted her more and I hated him more. I wanted to break his bones into pieces. I was so angry. I was about to hit him on the face when someone hit him before I could. It was her. Her eyes were blazing with fury. He looked at her and spoke, ‘You are such a fool for believing that I really care for you’ he stood up and smiled, ‘Well to tell you the truth, I don’t… if it wasn’t for your reputation I wouldn’t even bother to look at you-‘
Then I punched him straight on his face. He was terrified, not wanting to repeat the incident which happened before, he ran away.

Tears fell from her eyes. She sat on the ground in sorrow. I walked towards her, hesitating to touch her. Things have been different ever since that incident.
‘I-‘she started to speak. I listened patiently beside
‘I’m sorry’ and she cried harder, ‘I was-‘… I wrapped my arms around her, ‘don’t think about it.’

The next days were sad… I see her smile at me… But the pain she feels inside is visible. Just like before, she tries to smile… She seems to distance herself from me. Every time I come close to her she finds an excuse to go away. We never had a nice conversation since then… I still haven’t told her my feelings… And I don’t plan to at this time… she have so many problems to go through and I don’t want to add up to her problems. Maybe, I’ll just wait until the wounds are healed.

A week had gone by and still she remained distant. Then one afternoon after class, I was able to walk her home. That was the first time we had a conversation for a very long time since her ex-boyfriend and I had a fight. The warmth of her voice was really soothing. Like music to my ears. I longed for her voice, her smile, her face… everything about her… We stopped on a street and sat on a bench. I felt the cool wind blowing then she spoke while staring at the tall post in front of her.
‘I’m going to London… I’ll be studying there’
It took me time to respond to her words… I was struck… I didn’t know what to say… then I answered her,
‘T-That’ll be a great experience… I heard London- is a great place…’
‘I did so too… I think I’ll be better off there’
‘Ah- W-What about your friends, the people who care for you here…’
‘Nobody cares for me here… That’s one of the reasons I have in going there’
Thorns seem to strike my heart the moment she mentioned those words…
‘I’ll be leaving the day after tomorrow…. Quick eh? My parents seemed happy of the decision I made and immediately entered me to a school there. I’ll be doing lots of preparations for the trip. I think I should be heading home now.’

I walked with her to her home where she thanked me. I wanted to tell her, but I did not… I waited for the next day, the last day she’ll spend in our country before she flies to London. I went to her house. I saw her on their doorstep. She looked at me and smiled. We walked to the park silently. I did not give out a word. I simply looked at her, cherishing the moment we have together. We stopped by a tree. She began to talk… I listened to her voice and to her words. Then silence once again conquered the conversation. She handed me a star-shaped keychain,
‘Take this as a remembrance… Thank you for everything….’
‘You don’t have to thank me… I did those things for you because I- care for you… because I like you’ I said… I was stunned with what I just said, and I could see that she too was surprised…
‘I- ‘she spoke, ‘I have to go’
‘Please… stay for a while… I- I want to be with you’ everything I was thinking about seemed to run into words immediately.
‘I don’t want to get into commitments… I’m sorry I really have to go’
‘I’ll be waiting- for you… I will be here… waiting for you…’ she left me without saying goodbye… I went by the airport everyday witnessing the departure and the arrival of the planes hoping to see her. I also walked by their house but nobody was there. They’ve moved out.

Seven years had gone since she left me on the park. I’m already a working man. A bit busy, but I still find time to visit the airport. My hopes are still up. Though I know that seven years is a long time, who knows what had happened to her… she might be going out with someone on the present time. Different thoughts fled to my mind often, thoughts that she’s not coming back or that she might no longer remember me. But there was a thought which remained strong in my mind. It was the thought of seeing her again.

I was sitting on the chairs and tables located outside of a restaurant I like. I ordered some coffee and cake and observed the people walking. My phone rang. People usually would laugh at me because of the accessory I attached on my phone. They think it’s funny for a man, especially a working man such as myself to have a star dangle on my cellular phone… It was the keychain she gave me before she left. I answered it, the call was about to end when suddenly, someone bumped my hand and my phone fell on the concrete. I was terrified, thinking that the keychain might break. The person who bumped me picked my phone and stared at it for a while.
‘Would you mind giving it back?’ I asked coolly.
She handed it to me,
‘I’m sorry’ her voice was familiar… it was soothing and relaxing. I did not fully accept the phone. I held her hand and stared at her face. It was the face I longed to see for seven years. I held my arms around her. I realized how much I missed her, it was so much… I’ve waited for that moment, the moment that I’ll see her again, hear her voice, and touch her. I felt her tears… She was crying,
‘I-I’m sorry… before… I was confused… forgive me for all the things I’ve done… I-I’m sorry...’
‘It’s been a long time… Seven years since you left me on the park… I missed you… so much’
I invited her to dinner. There we talked about things... She hadn’t changed a bit. She was still the person I knew before, beautiful, smart, witty… I wanted to ask her about a lot of things… but she asked me first,
‘Don’t you hate me for- being so selfish?’
‘No… that’s something funny though… After all the things I’ve been through with you, I cannot seem to hate you’
‘You know, I think I’d feel better if you’d hate me… I think it’ll make me feel better about my stupid mistakes’
‘Mistakes are made, but they cannot be called stupid. They guide us to the things we’ve done wrong and tell us to not do them again.’
‘Are you this philosophical these days? I guess time makes people change’
She was smiling. It made me feel a lot better.
‘Yes, time does make people change, but it doesn’t apply to all… I know I haven’t changed. I can see that you haven’t changed either…’
‘The star keychain…. It’s still with you all these years…’
‘I would definitely cry if I’d lose it…’
She brought out a laugh, ‘You are so silly’
‘I’ve been longing for that laugh’
‘A friend of mine who works in the airport told me that she always sees you there, are you waiting for someone?’
‘Yeah… I’ve been waiting for you’
I glanced at her expression, I wasn’t so sure how she feels but I’m certain that I saw her blush. That night was the last night I was able to spend time with her and tell my feelings towards her. She was betrothed. She told me that they will be getting married tomorrow. She was just trying to enjoy spending her last day as single because she will not be able to do it after her wedding tomorrow She said that she was glad to see me and that she wanted to tell me so much. That was the saddest moment of my life. It was the moment I lost the love of my life without having the chance to fight.

Now I stand on the green grass. The place was nicely decorated. Flowers of white and pink were everywhere. They agreed to have a garden wedding and the way they arranged things were good. The people were excited to see the bride… And the groom, the lucky guy she’s about to marry was standing in front waiting for her… Then she arrived, so beautiful in her gown of white silk. I did not let my eyes off her. I stared at the person whom I fell for almost eight years and until now… My heart ached more as she moved a step forward. How I wished that things did not turn out this way, that I was the guy waiting for her by the altar. But it seems that those things are no longer possible and all I can do at this time is to admire her from afar and to prepare to say goodbye… for the moment she says I do is the moment I let my dreams go away.

I didn’t know what I had been in those past years. I thought that I was just being idiotic. I never realized that I’ve become a fool waiting for someone who doesn’t long for me and fighting for a love whose chances of blooming was low from the very start. I learned that reality hurts more than wounds and bruises and that fairy tales don’t always have a happy ending. But I wouldn’t trade my memories with her for anything because even though she was the reason why I cried many times, had that saddest moment in my life… She made me smile more than any person could have and to her I felt the love I thought I’d never feel for anyone.
